The method

How your plan is built

The plan follows the method in our TARA preparation guide. With ten weeks or more to go, you learn the question types untimed, drill them against the clock, sit full papers under real conditions, then spend the two official practice tests last. With less time, the plan keeps both modules and trims the volume.

Your weaker module gets about two thirds of your module time, because the two scores are reported separately and there is no total to hide a weakness inside. Practice comes in sets of 10 by default, exactly the free daily allowance on GhostPrep, so a free account covers every practice task. You can make the sets bigger or smaller under More options.

Questions

About the study plan

What if I have not booked my test yet?

Choose Not booked yet and the plan runs to the first day of the sitting. Once you book, change your test day and every date moves with it. Booking for January 2027 closes on 21 December 2026 at 6pm UK time, and the plan shows that deadline in the right week.

Can I sit TARA in January?

It depends on your course. The January 2027 sitting, 4 to 8 January, is open to UCL's six TARA courses and to Oxford's PPE with Foundation Year. Every other Oxford TARA course uses the October sitting only. You can sit TARA once in each admissions cycle, so January is unavailable to anyone who sat in October.

Can I change my plan later?

Yes. Change any answer and the plan rebuilds straight away. The link in your address bar holds your answers, so bookmarking or sharing it brings the same plan back.

Is the plan free?

Yes, and so is almost everything in it. Practice comes in sets of 10 by default, the free daily allowance on GhostPrep, and the TSA and BMAT past papers in our exam simulator are free too. Full timed mocks need full access, and the plan gives a free alternative for each one.
