What’s on the test

What we’re building for the LNAT.

One continuous test, 2 hours 15 minutes total. Two sequential sections — once you leave a section, you can't come back to it.

95 minutes

Section A — Multiple choice

42 multiple-choice questions across 12 argumentative passages. Tests reading comprehension, inference, and the ability to hold a long argument in your head under time pressure.

40 minutes

Section B — Essay

One essay from a choice of three prompts, 500–750 words. Not scored by LNAT itself — sent to universities alongside your Section A score, so law schools read it directly.
